CGI Center

With the CGI-Center you can install different CGI scripts under your account.

The full list of the CGI scripts is as follows:

  • Simple CGI Wrapper – This is a CGI Wrapper that will allow you to run CGI Scripts with your User ID.
  •    Random HTML Generator – This is a Random HTML generator. It picks a string of HTML code from a list and inserts it in an SSI (Server Side Includes) enabled web page.
  •    Simple GuestBook – A simple guestbook for your visitors to view and sign.
  •    Advanced GuestBook – This is a more advanced guestbook written in PHP and MySQL.
  •    Counter – You can create a counter to count and show how many visitors have been on your site.
  •    CGI email – CGI Email takes the input of an HTML form and converts it to an email format defined by the author of the form.
  •    FormMail Clone – FormMail-clone is a clone of Matt Wright’s FormMail.

Site Software

Site Software is a cPanel addon which allows different scripts to be included and installed through it with just several clicks.

PHP/PEAR Modules

Perl modules are collections of functions that allow you to perform tasks in Perl. You will need to install a Perl module before you can use it inside a Perl program.

PHP Configuration

 Here the client can see the current settings and in some cases switch between versions.

  • Ruby Gems
  • Ruby on Rails
  • Optimize Website

Here you can optimize the performance of your website by tweaking the way Apache handles requests.   This allow’s you to compress content before sending it to the visitor’s browser. The types of content to be compressed are specified by MIME type. Creating MIME types is discussed further ahead.

PHP Version Selector

With some servers, you will see this option which allows you to select a PHP version, and then will also allow you to select  PHP modules specific to the account.

SiteBuilders

Most hosts will provide website builders through the cpanel access for the use by clients requiring assisting creating them at no additional costs. These can vary between each provider but it is good to know a few offered.
